Sponsorship
One important way in which you can help is to take up the sponsorship of a Rwandan woman. When you sponsor a woman you will receive information on her background as well as her current situation, together with her picture. Once a year you will receive a report, prepared by Solace Ministries, on her progress and how she has benefited from your support. If you wish, you can also correspond with her. If you choose to do so, your letter will be forwarded to your recipient by Solace Ministries via Mukomeze and vice versa.
Sponsorship of a woman or girl is € 30 per month, or € 1 per day. Sponsorship of a woman attending university (rather than participating in an income generating project) costs € 90 per month. Of course you can also choose to take up a part of a sponsorship of a woman. Together with donations from other sponsors, we will make sure that with your donation a woman will be sponsored. Our principle: 1 Euro in, 1 Euro out
This is our starting point. However, this is not completely possible: Mukomeze needs to make some unavoidable costs, such as transaction costs when transferring money abroad, the annual contribution for the website and the annual contribution for the Chamber of Commerce. These costs are relatively low and will not be more than 2% of our total budget. Making sure that your money goes directly to the project is possible since Mukomeze is composed of volunteers only, who will in principle take care of any costs they might have themselves. Nevertheless, overhead costs (e.g. paper, printing, postage, travelling, etc.) are aimed to be covered by funding and support which is separately sought by the board of Mukomeze. Furthermore, Mukomeze has no office; all board members work from their homes.
