
Around the 15th commemoration of the Rwandan genocide (7 April 2009), the authors of the book “The Men Who Killed Me” participated in a number of interviews in both Canada and the Netherlands. They spoke about the sexual violence that took place during the genocide and the lasting impact thereof on the survivors today as well as the role that Mukomeze can play for them. Also, in 2011, when the Dutch edition of the book (“De mannen die mij hebben vermoord”) was published, the book received media attention.
